Introduction: The Purpose and Goal of this Blog

I was practicing meditation with my Buddhist meditation group when one of the members in my sangha expressed her inability to meditate at home. She desperately wanted to meditate, but did not have the energy to follow through. I understood her frustrations of not being able to set aside 10 minutes a day to sit quietly and meditate because I have a busy schedule and fail to practice every day. My best course of action was to briefly explain my meditation practice, my difficulties of meditating daily, and how daily meditation benefits me. I told her that one of the benefits is that it increases my energy so I no longer space out in front of the internet or watch countless hours of sitcoms --- instead I do what I really want with my life. I told her that if 10 minutes a day is too long, start with 5.

During the following week’s meditation practice, she thanks me for inspiring her to mediate at home! She was more alert, cheerful, and energetic than she was the previous week. My 5 minute talk on my meditation practice was the catalyst she needed to improve her life.
My interaction with her inspired me to start this blog. I believe that by blogging my spiritual journey and explaining different techniques to overcome pain and suffering, I could help anyone who is willing to learn. I have learned that everyone’s spiritual journey is different, but I hope that my experiences, difficulties, and awakenings will help you on your journey. This blog is intended for everyone with a desire to improve their life. I hope this blog will assist you to find the right path and lead to a happier, more joyful, and energy rich life.
I plan on posting a weekly blog on my experiences as well as posting book reviews or other material I find helpful on my journey. I hope you all will post with suggestions, comments or questions on topics which could help others or me!
